[Hong Kong, 1 Aug 2002] Hongkong International Terminals (HIT) recently implemented a new phase of its Customer Plus system. Customer Plus is an advanced B2B interface used for exchanging terminal/container information with shipping lines. The system, now web-based, boasts an enhanced user-friendly interface with a greater number of application features. The results have included an easier setup for shipping lines; greater access to information and most importantly, ensured timely and efficient communication between the shipping lines and HIT.
"This enhancement is part of our continuous effort to advance our on-line customer service. With this initiative, we have further strengthened communications with our customers, and thus improved upon customers' efficiency and convenience," comments Managing Director Eric Ip.
A key feature of this system is streamlined access. Customer Plus has the benefits of a simplified login process and a unified port code maintenance procedure for shipping lines. And in response to customer requests, it now has the flexibility of extended report retention periods with multiple outputs including HTML, PDF and Excel formats. This gives customers greater freedom and control over the information.
In addition, customers have access to container dwelling time at terminal and easy reference to terminal system codes. Having easier access to this information increases the shipping lines' efficiency and reduces the need to exclusively depend on paper documentation.
With the web-based system over 30 registered shipping lines have the convenience of accessing the system anytime, anywhere.
