HONG KONG, 10 July, 2002 - Hutchison Telecom has taken the lead to be the first mobile operator in Hong Kong to provide total mobile coverage for voice, data and mobile multimedia communications in all public areas of Hongkong Land's nine premium commercial buildings in Central, following the leading deployment of Integrated Radio Distribution System (IRDS) with 3G upgrade capability. Hutchison Telecom will continue extending the mobile coverage of Hongkong Land's Central Portfolio to all tenant office areas and elevators.

The nine commercial buildings include One, Two & Three Exchange Square, Prince's Building, Alexandra House, Gloucester Tower and Edinburgh Tower at The Landmark, Jardine House and the latest development - Chater House.

Integrated Radio Distribution System (IRDS) Technology

Hutchison Telecom's Integrated Radio Distribution System (IRDS) is a well-designed and engineered system that enables different mobile technologies to share the network infrastructure to provide reliable and good quality RF signal coverage within specified areas with broadened coverage, whether indoors, underground and in MTR stations and tunnels. IRDS causes minimal disturbance to landlords and tenants, and landlords can have better management control of the system. The system can also overcome interference among different mobile networks and have 3G upgrade capability. In June 2001, Hutchison Telecom has been selected by Hongkong Land to lead the deployment of IRDS in Hongkong Land's nine commercial buildings in Central.
