Milan, 12 July 2001 - H3G, the first mobile multimedia operator of the Italian market, announced today that Bob Fuller has been nominated CEO of H3G. He will work alongside Vincenzo Novari.
Christian Salbaing, already CEO with Vincenzo Novari, has been named Executive Vice Chairman of H3G SpA. Both assignments become effective on September 1, 2001.
Fuller, 53 years old, has been chief operating officer of Orange UK from 1997 to October of 2000, when he joined Telewest as network services director. He joined Orange in 1990, where, four years later, he was appointed as commercial director, in charge of customer services, logistics, sales and marketing. Fuller's nomination represents his return to the telephony industry and to the Hutchison Group, with which he has worked for 20 years.
"I am very happy to be part of the management team that is working on a project that represents the most exciting development in the wireless industry since mobile phones became a mass-market phenomenon," said Fuller, "and I am pleased to do it with a group focused on the 3G technology on an international level."
"We are pleased to welcome a man who has built his career in the telephony business and in the group of our controlling shareholder, Hutchison Whampoa. Fuller will bring value added to our work, both for his expertise in the telephony world, and for his capacity to face challenges," commented Vincenzo Novari, CEO of H3G.
