Cristobal Cruise Terminal - Pier 6
[Panama - 12th December 2000] Panama Ports Company, S.A. (PPC) announces the first vessel call of Norwegian Cruise Line at Cristobal Cruise Terminal - Pier 6. The 1,750 passengers and 650 crew members on board the Panamax vessel "Norwegian Wind" inaugurated the service when she called today at Cruise Terminal - Pier 6.
The cruise vessel "Norwegian Wind" on the Mystery Cruise Tour is the first cruise vessel to dock at a Panamanian Port at the city of Colon for a full-day excursion, arriving at 08:00 and departing at 18:00 hours.
Commenting on this event Mr. Alejandro Kouruklis, General Manager of PPC, said:
"We are delighted that Norwegian Cruise Line has chosen to make the Cristobal Cruise Terminal - Pier 6 their port of call for their vessel Norwegian Wind, bringing such a large number of passengers and crew to the Province of Colon. At Pier 6 we are able to service every major cruise line operating in the Caribbean cruise market or transiting the Canal."
The Cristobal Cruise Terminal - Pier 6 was inaugurated on October 2nd, 2000 by Mrs. Mireya Moscoso, President of the Republic of Panama and Mr. John E. Meredith Group Managing Director of Hutchison Port Holdings and President of Panama Ports Company.
