London, 14 February 2007: 3UK today announces that its Window's Live Messenger^TM service has won the Best Mobile Messaging Service award at the prestigious 3GSM awards. The mobile media company launched the application on the 3 network in August 2006 and was the first operator to provide this service free to its 3.75m UK customers.

The GSM Awards are globally recognised as one of the most esteemed sources of independent verification for the entire mobile industry and to win an award is a true mark of excellence. The panel is made up of independent judges comprising leading industry and subject matter experts, analysts, journalists and academics.

3's mobile broadband offering provides customers with an identical messaging experience to the one they are used to on their PC allowing them to see the presence of their Messenger^TM contacts and exchange messages from their phone. We now have more than 300,000 customers registered on the service - sending and receiving over 1.5 million messages every day.
