(Hong Kong, 9 October 2005) Qualities of Hutchison Whampoa Limited's annual reports have once again been recognised, with the Group's latest annual report winning a Silver Award in the Conglomerate Category of the 19th Annual International ARC Awards.

Creativity, clarity, effectiveness and innovation shown by the Group's 2004 Annual Report have won judges' recognition when they assessed entries for the "World's Best Annual Reports" Competition.

Close to 1,900 entries have been submitted for this year's awards by about 800 companies from 25 countries representing more than 200 industries. Judging is carried out by a group of top-level investor relations executives, financial executives, writers, designers and photographers from over 67 different agencies and corporations in the United States, Austria, Canada, Hong Kong, Mexico, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

HWL's 2003 Annual Report won a bronze award in last year's competition.

The International ARC Awards is one of the world's largest annual report competition created to honour overall excellence in annual reports. The annual competition is organised by MerComm Inc, an independent organisation dedicated to defining excellence in the field of communications.
