the 32nd "Distinguished Salesperson Award" and "Best Presentation Award"
The 32nd "Distinguished Salesperson Award Programme" (DSA Programme), organized by The Hong Kong Management Association and Sales and Marketing Executive Club, have honoured Hutchison Telecom's three outstanding sales personnel, Dona Chan, Wilson Chu and Eric Yeung each with the prestigious "Distinguished Salesperson Award". Dona Chan was awarded additional recognition - "Best Presentation Award", reinforcing the outstanding customer services offered by Hutchison Telecom.
The DSA Programme recognizes the achievements of Hong Kong's most successful sales professionals. This year a total of 130 professional salespersons were nominated. Hutchison Telecom stood out with all three of its nominated representatives winning the Distinguished Salesperson Award.

"We recognize that in the telecommunications industry, it is imperative for professional salespersons to keep abreast of the most up-to-date telecom technologies and product information. In addition, dedication to providing high-quality customer services is also the key to our success."
Professionalism and sincerity
Dona Chan has been working as a sales professional in the telecommunications field for four years. In pocketed her two awards, she believes that persistence is the crux. She recalled one instance when she has been doing her daily follow up with a customer on product inquiries. By holding to her principle of giving customers the best services possible, Chan was able to persuade the customer to accept the offerings she proposed. This same customer then introduced her to his fellow colleagues. With her dedicated and persistent nature, all 25 members of his team also became her customers.
"As a professional salesperson I serve customers from the heart and treat them as close relatives," commented Chan. "My winning formula is: understand the customer's needs, provide professional advice, and build a trusting relationship."
Teamwork: key to success
With more than six years of professional sales experience in the telecommunications industry, Eric Yeung credits teamwork and training to his success. "I value teamwork the most. The time spent discussing and exchanging ideas with colleagues has became an indispensable part of my job," he stressed. "In addition, the professional training programmes offered by Hutchison Telecom have helped us to acquire comprehensive product knowledge and professional sales techniques."
Market sense and sales techniques essential
Wilson Chu, a former social worker, considers market sense and sales techniques the most important requirements for a salesperson. "The ability to adapt to the ever-changing environment of the telecommunications industry is vital," said Chu. "At Hutchison we are always learning to better cater to the diversifying needs of customers. A positive attitude, high-level of self-control, excellent communications skills and sales techniques are also critical to the success of a salesperson."
