In light of recent press reports, Hutchison Whampoa wishes to confirm that:

• The processing of the listing application of HTIL to Hong Kong Stock Exchange is ongoing. As people who are familiar with the listing process will be aware, any listing application involves discussions covering many aspects of the application process. HTIL's application and the process involved are no different in this respect.

• As was made clear in the spin-off announcement released by Hutchison Whampoa on 29 March, the Indian operations are, and are intended to remain, an integral part of HTIL.
