(Hong Kong, 1 March 2004) Hutchison Whampoa Limited ("HWL") today announced that Mr William Shurniak has appointed Mrs Susan Chow as his alternate director effective 1 March 2004.

Mrs Susan Chow has been an Executive Director of HWL since 1993 and Deputy Group Managing Director of HWL since 1998.
